Plane Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Crack in Cockpit Window
An aircraft transporting Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was found in the aircraft's cockpit window, as stated by an official statement which stated that Hegseth was safe.
"The jet landed in accordance with standard procedures and all passengers, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a press officer stated in a social media post.
The secretary was coming back from a brief trip to Brussels at the time.
This incident is not the initial instance that a US military aircraft transporting a senior official has encountered technical problems.
Earlier this year, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was compelled to return to the US capital after experiencing a technical issue.
