The tenth week again delivered, with a major surprise for the Bills demonstrating the 'any Sunday can bring surprises' saying that draws so many fans into the National Football League
That result could have created things up for the Patriots to creep back into a leading position they formerly held, with a schedule that gives them an advantage over their 8-2 rivals
Over in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to arrange a monster clash in week 11, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the Most Valuable Player award
Analysis - Simply an Off Day for the Bills?
Could it simply have been an emotional comedown from defeating Kansas City the previous week or something more? This remains the question for the Bills to address
The Buffalo squad had won seven in a row against Miami but were second best from the beginning as the Miami team ran out 30-13 victors in an eye-opening result - and performance
MVP quarterback Josh Allen only achieved the squad's initial first down in the third quarter and initial scoring in the final quarter - admittedly the Dolphins had ten days to get ready but it was nonetheless a massive egg laid by one of the NFL's best offenses
Tua Tagovailoa threw two touchdowns but running back Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 total yards and two scores
Containing the league's best running game was also key, with Cook and teammates registering just eighty-six yards, their lowest of the year and slightly more than half their 161.5 yard average
Additionally there were the three critical ball losses, and the pair from Josh Allen specifically. An interception in the scoring area resulting in a nine minute possession produced nothing, and his fourth-quarter fumble that the Dolphins converted to seven points just two plays
It was typical 'previous Bills teams' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defensive side and Allen attempting to overcompensate to rescue his squad out of it - not the composed, controlled, well-balanced Buffalo team we've seen this season
The Dolphins have demonstrated a bit of everything this year so the verdict is uncertain on whether this is the beginning of something, but for Buffalo they'll require an instant response in a difficult matchup against Tampa Bay next week as the New England are sneaking into a comfortable advantage at the top of the AFC East
In Focus - New England See Path to Unexpected First Place
Speaking of the Patriots, they're one of three eight and two squads in the NFL, all American Football Conference teams, but are they the best?
One could pick holes in the Patriots, the Broncos and Indianapolis really for dominating the lesser sides, with just five of their total 24 wins coming against teams with a positive record - and one of those was the Colts defeating the Broncos
The Broncos defeated the reigning champion Eagles in Philly and are kings of the final quarter while Indianapolis can ride Jonathan Taylor, but the Patriots including Sunday's victory in Tampa to their primtime success in Orchard Park seems like a statement
Their two defeats came in recently appointed coach Vrabel's initial three contests, with seven straight wins, just like Denver, since then - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Bucs had a bye to prepare was huge
Drake Maye's MVP claims continue to be discussed, and he definitely earns point for courage after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa Bay but persevering to steer his team to victory
The defensive unit is reliable and rookie rusher TreVeyon Henderson burst onto the scene on Sunday with 147 rushing yards and two exhilerating touchdowns of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - becoming just the fifth different ball carrier to exceed 22 miles per hour this year on his initial touchdown
While you can debate who 'the best' is statistically, the Patriots should be favourites to finish with the best record thanks to their remaining opponents - which includes just one game against a successful opponent, albeit a significant contest against the Bills
Visiting Baltimore is also tough, but the Broncos have it more difficult in the AFC West with the Chiefs to face two times, the Los Angeles Chargers (who might also challenge for first place but face the same problem) and additionally the Green Bay on the fixture list
The Indianapolis also play the Chiefs, and have the Seahawks, San Francisco and two games with the five and four Jaguars to contend with. There's a long way to travel but the opportunity is available for a shock number one position in the American Football Conference
Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Set for Week 11 Showdown
Both squads with strong arguments to be better than all of the three 8-2 sides are National Football Conference West rivals the Seahawks and Rams, who each put up 40 burgers to reach 7-2 before the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster game between the pair in Los Angeles
They've both secured four victories in a row, have signal callers in Stafford and Sam Darnold playing at an high standard (although Darnold had turnover issues on Sunday) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units allowing under 20 points a game
Each could realistically be without a loss as well - particularly the Rams as their pair of losses occurred in extra time against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philly when they had a potentially winning kick with the last kick deflected and run back by the Eagles for a score
The Seahawks also lost to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in week one, before losing to the last kick of the game against the Buccaneers - so they are genuinely two of the best sides in the league
The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the season to date
Top Performer - Jonathan Taylor
Taylor might be on for a record season after his remarkable performance in Germany - running for 244 yards, scoring three touchdowns and adding another 42 {receiving yards
