Blast Costs Three Carabinieri Amid Eviction Procedure in Northern Italy

Three police officers lost their lives and no fewer than 15 people sustained injuries in what appears to be premeditated detonation from gas at a farmhouse in Italy's north.

How It Happened

The blast took place as police and firefighters went into the residence near the Verona region to carry out an court-ordered eviction for two brothers and a sister aged in their 50s and 60s.

All three victims who died belonged to the Carabinieri force.

Investigation Developments

One male and one female got detained at the site and one more individual who ran away after the blast was located soon after. The trio have been taken to medical facility.

The blast could be heard some 5km (3 miles) away and images from the scene displayed the building turned into a pile of rubble.
