Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on December 29th, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Healing from Light Wounds

Joshua had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his management team had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

Remembering the Victims

Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two close friends.”
